The Grace Center & Fredericksburg Fall Market

Tomorrow my boys and I are going with my mom to my cousins baby shower, but then we are headed to St. Joseph's Halle for the Fall Market. It isn't a big place but they have lots of neat vendors, clothes, kids wear, baked goods and home sewn beauties, plus much more. What I love most about the Fall October Market is where the donations go to. Admission is by donation, whatever you are called to give. The donations benefit The Grace Center of Fredericksburg. It is a place that provides support and services for individuals impacted by domestic violence. Their vision is to provide services that break the cycle of domestic violence, giving individuals hope and healing. Their current goal is to raise the funds necessary to build a shelter where those who have been impacted by domestic violence can seek shelter from their abuser.

The following information is from their website.

"Domestic violence is not only a national problem, but a community issue as well. Currently, the closest shelters are in Boerne and Kerrville, which stay busy and near capacity.

According to Statistics:

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year, and 90% of these children are eyewitnesses to this violence. Between 21-60% of victims of intimate partner violence lose their jobs due to reasons stemming from the abuse. 72% of all murder-suicides involve an intimate partner; 94% of the victims of these murder suicides are female.
